"Orchards are simple a peach tree says 'some of me will be juicy and some of me will be dry I'm not growing for you I grow because thats what I do' you always hear some person complain about how dry their peach is and the peach says 'it's not our fault you have no understanding on the proper use for dry peaches."

none of the listed shows are named after the one female character, either

it’s actually physically impossible for me to not reblog this post.

I want to say I’ve reblogged this before, but I’m reblogging again for the brilliant addition of, “None of the listed shows are named after the one female character, either” because FUCKING THANK YOU.

mmmmmhm.

Every time I reblog this, there are new shows on the list.

Read the link for comedy gold.

Sometimes you read something that someone else has written and despair.

The despair happens because there was something inside you that you ignored, a call to adventure you didn’t answer.

You forgot all about it.

Then you read something that someone else wrote, and it sounds like your voice.

The muses don’t belong to you or anyone.

I somehow didn’t know that you could just write about the things that are funny to you, things that make you laugh.

This writer is hilarious and I’m familiar with her voice because I know it. But somehow the impression of writing I got was that you should obsessively question all your ideas and never write anything at all.

I’m scared now of hijacking her style, this author has completely inspired me. Here’s hoping I can learn from her without biting her singular style.

um no this makes me uncomfortable that glitter is too chunky and too close to getting in ya eye

I wore craft glitter, as well as sharpie, as eye makeup throughout most of my high school years. My eyes are intact.

HOWEVER, I was talking with a friend who does makeup professionally, and she told my I’m very very lucky. Glitter is basically small glass shards and it could have easily scratched a cornea. Especially since I often went to bed without washing it off.

I feel like this is a warning in the same way aging rock stars talk about drug use. They admit they could have died, but not without acknowledging the fun they had.

Kids, please don’t put glitter on your eyes.

*wink*

You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.”

We are so conditioned to be numb and to not trust our own instincts that we share things only in the right conditions. But being hidden is the biggest sign of weakness. Being hidden is more than just not opening up. Being hidden is asking your friend if the text you’re about to send is the right thing to say because you don’t trust yourself. You’re unintentionally communicating lies. But not because you’re a liar but because you are scared of your own honesty, of your own power. Being an open nerve in the world is power because being an open nerve requires great strength and very few have that. That’s why everyone is in constant despair. Emotions are for the powerful and everyone tries to dilute their own power because they are not able to wield it. If a person can be vulnerable in full view for the world to see without ever disguising their intentions or the emotions no one likes to feel, they will have the world in their hands. Because the only true power in the world is vulnerability and until you know complete vulnerability you will never know true honesty or power.

Since yesterday, 17 spam porn blogs have followed me. And apparently, they all think I’m a lesbian. I’m def queer but not lez. Ring ring? Hello? Yes I have a boyfriend. Okay but more importantly, wtf? Is there a way to stop this? Like I know I can block each of them, individually, but that doesn’t do anything to protect me it just makes them invisible to me… And doesn’t prevent annoying notifications every few minutes/hours…. And I’m not going to waste my life blocking all these fake ass blogs. Does anyone know a solution? Hey and in case you spammy ass robots are paying attention…. You can fuck right off.

Of course I only think of this when I’m on a plane to France – but the HAWKEYE omnibus is out today collecting the whole of my time writing and David Annie Steve Jesse Javier chris and matt’s time arting.

When it started up I began a curated collection of t-shirts at we love fine:

http://community.welovefine.com/profile/163420

And I give my commission on everything it earns me to Futures Without Violence

www.futureswithoutviolence.org

Anyway it seems to me this omnibus is maybe our last best chance to blow some shirts out the door.

Y'all team HAWKGUY readers have been amazing: from the Sandy issue, the fifty shades of shut up thing, your visibility and vocality as fans and readers, your creativity and generosity, your insanely vigorous support of the book, and your exquisitely welcoming dispositions towards new readers has never once been anything less than quite literally astonishing. I love and thank you for it – and I’m wondering if we can all maybe go to bat one last time for FWV.

If you’re buying the omnibus for yourself or a gift this holiday season or just because you’re a grown ass adult and don’t have to get anyone’s permission to spend the money you earn MOM – might I also interest you in some mighty fine t-shirts? Perfect for wrapping around a twenty-whatever issue omnibus and a cut goes to a great cause. Or maybe you just like purple (HI PRINCE). Whatever your toast and butter and jam may be:

Wanna try to make me write a check that hurts ONE! LAST! TIME?!?

Want a shirt with a dog solving a crime on it?

Do people call you “lady bro”?

Love HAWKEYE and love futures without violence?

Okay. That’s it. Thanks.

Anonymous asked: Yo, do you ever wonder/worry if you are racist? not like, are you "the real racist" w/r/t to dealing with accusations from avowed bigots, but racist in less perceptible ways.

yoisthisracist:

Worrying if you’re racist is a critical part of being a decent human being.

“Worrying if you are a racist is a critical part of being a decent human being” The worst racial privilege I ever experienced was in the first years of my life when I attended a magnet school that bussed in kids from every neighborhood and made a point of keeping white kids in the minority. We were raised with a rainbow flag as our mascot and equality as our mission. Not only that, but I lived in an ethnically diverse area and I assumed everyone else did too. When I was in 8th grade I transferred to a school in a very white, racist, backwards suburb of my town. I was exposed to blatant racism for the first time in my life. Before that, I thought that racism was something hateful people did for fun. I thought that the “Everybody get along together” attitude of my hippie school was the antithesis of that. I slowly learned through exposure that not only did these kids not blindly hate people on the basis of skin color, but that their fears and misconceptions were rooted deeply in a cultural history my white liberal self was not immune to. The more horrified I was by the things these kids said, the more I realized I believed the same things without knowing it. I spent years asking myself “Am I racist?” And the answer was yes. If I kept living in that falsely equalitarian utopia, I might never have learned. It took a harsh cultural mirror to teach me that racism isn’t based on hated or fear, it’s based on accepting cultural norms. I would have maybe never questioned my assumptions if I hadn’t seen them reflected by obviously racist people… And I still learn every day new ways to reflect on my thoughts and feelings. I still ask myself those questions. And the answer’s always yes. There’s always room to improve.

how many infiltrators you think exist on tumblr, twitter, etc? you know they out here right?

They are hiding behind the guise of troll. They claim to be subverting, but always seem to tow the line of those in power. How ironic that these free thinking people, who feel so challenged by “political correctness” and “policing” are usually on the side of the least progressive, most oppressive ideologies.

Can satan come teach a class at my school

Amusingly, among the Western European demon-conjuring cults of the 16th Century, many demons were greatly valued for their skill as teachers, often to the point that grimoires would place greater emphasis on the subjects each demon was qualified to teach than on their supernatural powers.

For example, this guy?

image

Teaches moral philosophy.

And this creepy dude?

image

He’s your astronomy professor.

Seriously, look this stuff up some time - it’s wild.

I now want a comic or cartoon series about demon teachers and their human students. Not sure if it should be college or high school.

“Aw, man - I got Professor Lionwheel. I hear if you fail his exams, he eats your legs.”

“Yeah, but he’s supposed to be really good about keeping regular office hours.”

“Huh. Sort of a trade-off, really.”

What do you have to do to get a scholarship?

Drench yourself in the blood of the ignorant.

Deal!
